North Anderson Drive

North Anderson Drive Fire Station is a former Grampian Fire and Rescue Service station situated in Aberdeen City. The station has four bays and operates on a wholetime basis.

North Anderson Drive's crews are trained in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) techniques to crew the Major Incident Unit (MIU). The MIU is deployed to incidents such as collapsed structures, trench collapses, and mine rescues, where specialist equipment and skills are needed. The MIU can also be mobilized for complex incidents involving heavy goods vehicles, aircraft, or rail infrastructure within urban environments.

North Anderson Drive is responsible for the Detection, Identification, and Monitoring (DIM) Unit, which serves as a mobile laboratory at serious Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents. The DIM Unit supports a variety of emergencies, including flooding, hazardous materials (HAZMAT), Urban Search and Rescue, and Mass Decontamination operations. Equipped to identify unknown substances at incidents, the vehicle is maintained and transported by the station's crews but operated on scene by specialist flexi-duty officers (FDO).

North Anderson Drive is equipped with Level 2 Safe Working at Height (SWAH) capabilities. This level allows SWAH operators to perform basic rope access to reach individuals during a rescue, but not to carry out full extrication from height. Rescues requiring more advanced rope techniques are handled by Level 3+ operators, typically provided by Altens in North Anderson Drive's case.
