Maud and Braemar fire station have had a co-responder scheme in place with the Scottish Ambulance Service since around 2007, which has the crew trained to a higher degree of trauma care than other firefighters, designated as a first responder asset with the ambulance service. The Scottish Ambulance Service have a vehicle provided to allow crew to respond when requsted, however they are barred from attending incidents which involve mental health, pregnancies or children. Kintore is unique in that it houses the highest horsepower pump in Scotland, based on a Scania P340 chassis. Kintore used to be the station of the Grampian Fire and Rescue fleet manager and thus had some workshop assets located there, this has continued to an extent following the amalgamation of all eight legacy fire services in 2013.
