W906UDP is one of only three '10-man pumps' currently in operation in Scotland. This particular type of pump was manufactured by EmergencyOne for the Grampian Fire Brigade to accommodate a larger crew of 10, as opposed to the standard six. The pump has an additional Officer In Charge (OIC) and extra firefighting gear to support the bigger crew. Thanks to its enhanced personnel and equipment, it can respond alone to some incidents that would typically require two crews. Buckie and Turriff are the only other stations that have such a specialized appliance, out of all three, Ballater is the only one not to be based on a Scania chassis.

The pump is crewed on a retained duty system and is the only operational pump stationed in Ballater. The pump is also made unique in that it is the only operational Dennis Sabre in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, additionally, it is the only white Dennis Sabre to be produced in the UK.
