SV54DWY is a hook-lift appliance manufactured by EmergencyOne on a Scania 94D-220 chassis for the Grampian Fire Brigade, the appliance is compatible with a large variety of demountable modules/pods meaning it can not only load modules from its home station modules but also modules from other stations. Currently, Altens has an array of four demountable modules: bulk foam, environmental protection, forestry, and damage control. The prime mover no matter what pod is wholetime crewed.
The forestry module is based on a demountable flatbed with an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and curtain slider section that carries forestry equipment. The ATV is a Kubota RTV 900, with a rear payload capacity of 500kg and a two-person cab, it is generally used for wildfire incidents to transport crew and/or equipment but can be mobilised to any incident that requires off-road capabilities. When the forestry module is mounted it will respond by the callsign Q03G1 and a support pump shall respond alongside it.
The damage control unit is one of a kind within the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, based on a demountable curtain slider module it's used for the likes of salvage operations and flooding, it carries equipment such as hoovers designed to collect water and extra equipment to collect other forms of waste. When the damage control unit is mounted it will respond by the callsign Q03S3 and is dual-crewed with the first pump meaning it will respond alongside the damage control unit.
The bulk foam unit is one of two within the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, with the other based at Balmossie, Dundee. The module is based demountable curtain slider and carries a variety of foam types such as 2000 litres of 3% foam as well as the necessary equipment to deploy foam. The module is dual-crewed by the first pump it will respond alongside the foam unit. When the bulk foam module is mounted it will respond by the callsign Q03S1.
The environmental protection unit is based on a demountable curtain slider module that carries equipment such as spillage containment and additional salvage equipment. The environmental protection unit responds to incidents where there is a risk of harm to the environment from hazardous substances and can support flooding incidents. When this module is mounted it will respond by the callsign Q03S2 and is dual-crewed by the first pump meaning it will respond alongside the environmental protection unit.
