SV09BPF - ChasingTheBlueLights

SV09BPF is a hook-lift appliance manufactured by EmergencyOne on a Scania P340 chassis for the Grampian Fire Brigade. The appliance is compatible with a large variety of demountable modules/pods, allowing it to load modules from its home station and other stations. Central currently has two modules at the station: the Mass Decontamination Unit (MD1) and Mass Decontamination Support (MD2). The prime mover and its pods were provided by the Scottish Government under the New Dimensions scheme, which was created in response to the 9/11 attacks.

The MD1 module provides the primary response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNe) incident in which people have come into contact with potentially harmful substances. The module carries an array of decontamination equipment which can decontaminate up to 200 people per hour. When this module is mounted it responds by the callsign Q02M1. When responding a mass decontamination unit requires 4 support pumps with the necessary staff.

The MD2 module acts as a support module for MD1, with extra decontamination equipment to fully support a mass decontamination incident. When this module is mounted it responds by the callsign Q02M2.
