K286FSO is a Scania 93M-280 water carrier, previously used by the Grampian Fire and Rescue Service, and currently operated by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. It is one of five water carriers operated by the SFRS, and also the oldest appliance still in operation.
The vehicle is stationed at Buckie Fire Station and is operated on a retained duty basis. The water carrier was originally designed as a turntable ladder for the Grampian Fire Brigade but was later converted into a water carrier by Whale Tankers after being involved in an accident in Aberdeen City Centre. It was also repainted in the white Grampian livery after renovation. The water carrier has a capacity of 7500 litres and due to the fact it has no pumping capabilities carries an inflatable 'dam' which water is emptied into and pumped out by other appliances.
