Dyce

Dyce Community Fire Station is a former Grampian Fire and Rescue Service station situated in Aberdeen City. The station has two bays and operates on a retained duty basis. Dyce is connected to the north service delivery area (SDA) headquarters, which covers the regions of Grampian, Tayside, Highlands & Islands.

Dyce has one of three incident support vehicles (ISV) located throughout the Grampian region. The ISVs carry a range of equipment, notably 50 breathing apparatus (BA) cylinders, mass decontamination equipment, basic refreshments and a variety of logistical support. ISVs can be requested at any time but should generally be mobilised when more than 4 BA sets are in use at an incident. A support pump must be mobilised alongside the ISV, which will generally be the station's retained crew but if this is not possible the nearest wholetime pump should be mobilised as support (every wholetime crew in the Grampian region are sufficiently trained in ISV procedures). The two other ISV are located at Elgin and Peterhead.

While not crewed by the retained staff at Dyce, the station houses the north fire investigation unit (FIU). The FIU team will generally be requested to all incidents in the north SDA which are deemed suspicious or of an unknown cause, with the responsiblity investigate the incident and submit findings to Police Scotland.
