DESCRIPTION
SV54 DWY is a former Grampian Fire and Rescue Service prime mover, built by Multi Lift on a Scania 94D-230 chassis. The vehicle utilises a hooklift system to equip any of the station's four modules, the station houses the following:
Bulk Foam Unit (Q03S1) - Carries a variety of foam and ancilliary equipment to support foam-based firefighting.
Damage Control Unit (Q03S3) - Provides tools and equipment for controlling and mitigating damage during incidents, primarily used post-flooding.
Forestry (Q03G1) - Transports a Polaris 4x4 All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to respond to forest and woodland incident.
Environmental Protection Unit (Q03S2) - Transports a variety of tools to prevent potentially hazardous substances from harming the local environment.
Stationed at Altens Fire Station, the vehicle operates on a wholetime basis.
History
(704) 2005: Appliance is newly allocated to Fraserburgh fire station.
(374) 2008: Appliance is re-allocated to Elgin fire station.
(974) 2010: Appliance is re-allocated to Altens fire station.
(Q03T1) 2016: Following the 2013 amalgamation of all eight Scottish fire and rescue services the appliance callsign is updated to a national standard.
